Can I use a JQL function to return a hierarchy of issues?

Current State:

Issues in project ABC are linked to epics in project XYZ. The epics in project XYZ contain issues from various projects.

Ask:

Are there any JQL functions (Scriptrunner is installed) that can be used to return a list of the linked epic and the the issues within that epic?

Example:

ABC-001  <- Provided in JQL somewhere 

XYZ-121 (linked Epic)

XYZ-123 (story within epic)

Facts:

I know I can utilize Advanced roadmaps and leverage the hierarchy functionality -- we'll go this route if we can't get this via JQL.  It would require a lot of manual changes.
