Can I use customer field to search ticket?

I want to use a customer field to search ticket, but there is following error:

Field 'ExtSupplier' is not searchable, it is only sortable.

What type of field is it, and what searcher have you applied?

You can see both of these in admin -> issues -> custom fields (the type will be listed under the name of the field in this list) -> Edit field

The field is "Select List (single choice)"

We just want to search ticket by the following JQL

ExtSupplier = "QCT"

Could you edit the field and check what "searcher" is selected for it?

Thank you for your answer, when I changed "search template" from "None" to "Multi Select Searcher", the field can be searched.
