Can a Gantt chat view in Big picture be created using Sprint to determine the time line?

Currently I see that start and end date is used, However, I would like to have a view sprintwise.

Kindly let me know if this is feasible.

Hi @Anusha Rao

The Gantt chart is a very comprehensive module so it can be used as a Roadmapping tool.
On the timeline, you can display the duration of sprints, so you can easily identify which sprint a task is in. Take a look at my image below.

Moreover, you can use Sprints as a structure builder and display all tasks assigned to given sprints in your Program Box. To achieve that, first add issue type Sprint in Box Configuration >> Tasks >> Scope definition and subsequently activate Sprint builder in Box Configuration >> Tasks >> Task structure.

Thank you very much for your answer Anna,

option  'Timeboxes' really helped.

However, Say a user story is assigned in current sprint , and the start and end date is defined.

If  I move the user story to next sprint, and donot  change the start and end date, then in Big Picture, the timeline doesn't change .

Isnt it better if the timeline shows the current sprint of the user story instead of the start and end date.

Regards,

Anusha

The plugin offers the option of "Precise alignment" which means that a task's period will align exactly with the box's period (e.g., Sprints). The fields mapped as start and end dates will get updated to match the boxes' start and end dates when a task is planned in one of the time boxes.

To achieve it please go to Box Configuration >> Tasks >> Scheduling >> Set alignment on lower level. See my image as a reference.

I hope that it answers your question. If you have any further, I am here to help.

Hi @Anusha Rao

Please be advised, that only a user with a minimum Box admin security role can access and change the Scheduling. Therefore please make sure that you are added as Admin in Box Configuration >> Security. See my image as a reference.

Hi @Anusha Rao

The following link shows you how you can set the sprint view and put the stories and tasks under it.
