In order to use an integration by bigbrassband for Jira to Gitlab, the integration must be initiated on the Jira side.
With our Gitlab server not accessible from the outside world, I was seeing if there is a way to link our cloud jira instance to our internal gitlab server via a VPN tunnel to allow this integration to happen.
You cannot VPN tunnel from atlassian cloud. You should consider the server/data centre version of jira if your Gitlab is not accessible from outside. As a workaround, you can make your Gitlab server public behind a strict firewall which only allows internal connections and connections from your cloud instance.
Hey Danyal.
I´v got the same problem as Mike, and would like to know if you can elaborate on your suggestion. We are currently moving away from the server and thus are experiencing the problem.
My question is if you have experience with the firewall solution?
How do easily protect against external and only allow the cloud?
normally would think a whitelist of ip, but i expect jira cloud would contact the gitlab server from different ips , hence the cloud?
