Can a custom field be updated through a workflow transition

My question relates to a custom field that requires editing when a workflow transition is processed.

 Is this possible

Yes, that is possible. First you need to add a screen with that custom field to that transition. Secondly you need to add a validator (field required validator) in that transition that says "there must be a value in that field".

For the field required validator you would need to enable JIRA Suite Utilities Plugin (if not already done)

Or if there is already a value in that field and it must be changed during that transition, use "Field has been modified" validator from JIRA Misc Workflow Extension plugin.

Hi - Thanks for the feedback. The option "field required validator" - is not available - only field modified - and single value validator. Regards

You need JSU Plugin for Field Required validator, see my first comment. But Field Modified will do as well.
