Hi,
I'm studying for the ACP-600 exam, but I've come across two different answers for the same question.
Who can change a project key?
The student guide provides an image of project details, stating that the items grayed out can only be edited by Jira Admins. The project key field is one of these fields.
However, the "Editing a Project Details" page clearly states that a project key can be edited by a Project Admin. Which is the source of truth? I am concerned as I'm not sure if the exam is expecting an answer based on what is true, or the information provided in the student guide.
@Adrian it looks like the link for 'Editing a project details' points to the cloud version documentation of Jira. The exam is based on on-premise/server version of Jira.
I haven't checked but I assume that this is a difference between cloud & server versions of Jira.
Hope this helps.
Hi Adrian,
Did you figure this out. I am confused on this as well. On server version, an account which is Project Admin couldn't change the project key. But the document here for server version 7.13 (which I am running) https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0713/editing-a-project-key-964983342.html, kind of says Project Admin should be able to change and it doesn't talk anything about requiring Jira Admin permission to change the project key.
And Jira Admin account was able to change. I am not sure how it is different in cloud. Can you please clarify on this. Thanks.
