My single choice Select List custom field is set to "required." When an issue is created, it defaults to "None" and doesn't require me to make some other choice. It looks like the "None" choice is added automatically by JIRA. Is there a way to make the user choose some value other than "None?"
change the default in custom fields. find your field and select configure. There you can change the default.
I am having the same issue s @Steve Swett. And it seems this fix doesnt work. The none option remains. Perhaps it is something Atlassian overlooked?
