Can an edit of a subtask field trigger the creation of an additional subtask?

Lloyd Dukes June 15, 2020

I would like to use Jira automation to create a new subtask once a specific field of an existing subtask is set to a certain value. The existing and new subtasks would both be related/tied to the same issue.  The subtask is the driver for this automation. The issue just needs to be assigned the "new" subtask. Example: - SubTask 1 has it's "Component" field changed to "some value", this triggers a Jira automation rule that will then create a new subtask (SubTask2). SubTask 1 and SubTask2 are associated/tied to Issue1.
