Can assign an "EPIC" to my task

HolmanG November 5, 2019

Today we started to migrate JIRA cloud. Up to now we been using JIRA On-Premise which is about 2 versions behind.

I'm trying to assign/tag tickets I created in JIRA to an EPIC like I've done under the previous version. On my Kanban board, I can see the capability to filter by an EPIC, but I can't assign an EPIC to a tickets (or tickets to an EPIC if you want to word it differently)

Hello @HolmanG

Thank you for reaching out.

You can add existing issues to Epics in the new issue view of JIRA Cloud by performing the steps below:

1 - On your board, click in the issue you want to add in the Epic > Find the field Epic Link and type the name of the Epic:

Additionally, you can use the bulk operation functionality in case you want to do it for multiple issues in a single shot.

Currently, it is not possible to do the reverse way (add Issues to Epics) in the new issue view, however, we are currently in progress to get it implemented:

"Create issue in Epic" "+" under the "Issues in this Epic" section removed in the new view

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

For now, if you want to use this feature, the new issue view can be deactivated under your personal settings, by clicking in your profile picture at the bottom-left menu > Settings.

Let me know if this information helps.
