I am having issues getting time tracking and original estimate fields to be visible after following all setup guidance. I am suspecting that for some reason, these features are not available for company managed project types "JIRA - business project". Could anyone confirm this?
Pretty disappointing if so - I really loathe the idea of switching our whole org over to another board just because of this. If the feature is unable to be used with this project type, it would be so great to know that earlier.
If it is not available, I guess I will need to develop a similar workaround and am open to suggestions on how best to customize this.
UPDATE: I was able to resolve part of my issues so far by making "Time Tracking" field visible on Issue Configuration level but Original Estimate is not there but both are added to Issue layout, screens, etc and still not able to see Original Estimate on the issue view.
Strangely, I am able to pull into the overall project issue list as a column and edit freely there OR I am able to at least see the information in the parent view by adding the columns to the child view but unable to edit there.
The other workaround is logging the work and setting the remaining estimate there but again, this is not what I would like. Ideally original estimate would be visible and editable on my issue layouts. Interestingly, one issue type has a screen during create that pops up because we have a required field and Original estimate could be logged for those parent issue types. All issues use the same screen for create/edit according to my screen configuration but clearly one issue type has a different screen for create.
I am inspecting my workflows but oddly do not see screen associated with create on that issue type so I am just a bit confused as to what is happening. Happy to answer my own question though that "YES, time tracking and original estimate field are available for non-software JIRA company managed projects".
However, the guidance for setup is not the same for these business project types as I am finding for software project types where enabling is from the Board view. Still more figuring out to be had around this but I am pleased this is possible!
