Hi everyone,
I'm running into an issue with my team-managed project in Jira. I'm the board admin, and for some reason, I can't create tasks using the blue "Create" button at the top of the screen. When I try, the tasks don't appear on the board.
Here’s what I’ve already checked:
It seems like tasks created from the top "Create" button aren't being routed to the board properly. Has anyone else experienced this or know what might be causing it?
Thanks in advance!
Thank you, I figured it out. We had 2 different backlog's enabled which was making the tasks go into the second one. I disabled it and now the tasks go directly on the board.
Hello @Paige Annunziato
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Can you first confirm that when you use the Create button at the top, the Project that is specified in the dialog is the same as the project for which you are viewing the board?
You said it is a Team Managed board. Is it a Software or Business project? Get that info by clicking the ... button next to the project name in the panel on the left.
I don't see a Backlog tab in you screen image, so you could be using a Software project with a Kanban board and no Backlog, or a Business project.
If you are using a Software project Kanban board, can you go to Project Settings > Board > Columns and Statuses, and provide a screen image of what you see there? I'm looking for Statuses in the "Unassigned Statuses" area. If you are using a Business project that option won't be available.
Next, can you go to Project Settings > Work Types, then click on Task, then click on Edit Workflow. Please provide a screen image of the full workflow. What I would be looking for is the status pointed to by the black circle labeled Start. That is the Status that a newly created issue will be set to when you use the Create button. If that Status is not mapped to a column of the board, then the item can't be displayed on the board.
