Can't assign sub-task from detail view

When attempting to assign a sub-task from the detail view within the backlog, it won't work. The only way to make it work is to bring the full sub-task up into its own view.

I've tried the following:

• Clicking the avatar of the assignee (doesn't produce any ability to change the assignee). It acts like it should, but doesn't do anything.
• Hitting the `a` key on my keyboard brings up the assignee view, but it brings up the assignee view for the parent task.

This is not a permissions issue, as I can assign once I bring the issue up into it's own window.

Try to check if assignee field is on edit screen assotiated to this issue type into this project.
