Can't close a sprint because it is remembering a deleted item

One of my teams is unable to close their sprint because of an issue that was deleted. How can we fix this? I've never run into this before.

This sounds like a bug you have found. Which version of Jira?

To fix this, an update to a more recent version of Jira could help. But no guarantee.

You should contact definitely the Atlassian support, if the problem stays.

One last idea: If the issue was moved (not deleted)  to a different project, moving it back would solve the problem.
