Can the JIRA SAML SSO by Microsoft plugin be configured so a user can go directly to an issue?

I have an issue with the SSO plugin.  I followed all instructions found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/saas-apps/jiramicrosoft-tutorial but I can’t navigate directly to a jira issue.  If a user is not logged in and they enter the jira home address, the user is logged in and sent to the homepage as expected.  However, if the user is logged out and enters an address of a specific jira issue, they are still directed to the home page after SSO.  Is it possible to adjust this behavior?  I’d expect the user should be able to navigate direct to the jira.

In short, let’s assume I’m logged out:

https://jira:8443 --> logged into homepage

https://jira:8443/browse/issue-306 --> logged into homepage (instead of issue-306)
