Can the project list be exported to .csv?

In preparation for migration from Datacenter to Atlassian Cloud, I would like to export the existing Datacenter projects list to a .csv file. The Administration Projects show:

  • project
  • key
  • type
  • Lead
  • Category
  • Last Issue update
  • Issue Count

Having this information in a spreadsheet would allow me to determine which projects should be archived, which could be migrated as a group, etc.

Does anyone know how to export the Projects on the Administration Board to a .csv file? Thank you, Community! :)

I got this answer from somewhere else out here.

Go to:  https://[yourcompany].atlassian.net/rest/api/2/project?expand=lead

Copy the results and paste them here:  https://json-csv.com/

You can export it from there.

I was only looking for the project leads, but there is more information in the results and you may be able to tweak it more.

@Sue Lund, I think you are on the right track, but I need to run this on my Data Center instances of Jira. I'm migrating to the Cloud and need the project info to prepare for the migration.

As far as I know, there is nothing natively that would allow you to do this.

The two options that come to mind as a workaround, would be:

  1. The obvious but also painful copy and paste each page to a spreadsheet. You can also help by sorting issues by their last issue updated date.
  2. If you are familiar with APIs, or have a Developer on staff, who can help, this information can be queried - https://docs.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/api/REST/9.6.0/#api/2/project-getAllProjects
