My team wanted the ability to have bugs reported within a story so as not to have new bugs end up in the backlog when they're created. So I created another subtask issue type in the project that carries the Bug icon. This allows them to add bugs to a story similar to how they add subtasks to a story.
I am trying to associate a custom field to this new issuetype and cannot do it. The original subtask has the custom field but this new issue type doesn't despite being attached to the same screen scheme as the subtask.
I checked out both steps listed above. Here are the results.
1. The context of the custom field is for all issue types in any project.
2. The field is present on the field layout screen under issue layout.
The issue still persists. The orginal sub-task issue type carries the custom field while the newly created sub-task issue type (bug icon) fails to display the custom field.
Hello @Zack Lindberg
Thank you for reaching out.
Per your description, I understand you are not being able to add a custom field to a newly created sub-task issue type, despite the correct screen scheme is properly configured with the custom field. Is that correct?
I suggest checking the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:
