My question is related to JIRA Cloud.
While creating or updating a JIRA issue, can we have an option to include more than one assignee? For an example, to develop an User Story, we may require one Java Engineer, one UI Engineer and one Database engineer; in this case can we assign the user story to all these 3 users in a single-shot?
This is not a out of the box option and its not recommended to have multiple assignee to a single issue as that would mess up the ownership of the issue.
Now there are of course other ways in which you can get this accomplished without messing up the ownership.
1) You can create a new user picker field and put in the additional resources there and you can even configure your notification scheme to send out notifications to the users mentioned in this user picker.
2) The next way is a more elaborate method that includes your WF steps. We can have different WF status for different teams and when the issue is in its core development it can be assigned to a java Engineer and as it progresses through the WF you can have other engineers as assignee.
3) I dont recommend using components here as that I assume by default you are going to have three components all all issues will be part of these 3.
I believe the first path will help you better.
Hope this helps! Cheers!!
