Hi Shruthy, welcome to the community! 👋

If by “Saga” you’re referring to a high-level grouping of issues — such as Epics, Initiatives, or a custom issue type — then yes, it’s absolutely possible to generate reports or charts based on that in Jira.

I’m Javier Coira, and I help build Dashboard Hub, a reporting app for Jira that gives you greater flexibility and visibility than the built-in options. With Dashboard Hub, you can:

✅ Visualize progress of Epics, Sagas, or Initiatives in a clear and customizable way

✅ Group and filter issues by custom fields, issue types, or parent-child relationships

✅ Display data using charts, status summaries, and progress trackers

✅ Share dashboards securely (public/private) or export to PDF/PNG

🔹 Here’s a live example dashboard showing progress per Epic (or “Saga”):

👉 Epic Progress Dashboard

📘 This chart uses the Progress Tracker gadget — here’s how it works:

👉 Progress Tracker: Epics, Themes, Initiatives

🔹 You can also explore a more general example for agile teams, including metrics like issue counts, status distributions, and team workload:

👉 Agile Team Dashboard Example

📚 And here’s the general getting started guide for Dashboard Hub:

👉 Getting Started with Dashboard Hub

Let me know how your “Sagas” are structured in Jira and I’ll be glad to help you create a dashboard tailored to that! 🙌

Hi @Shruthy Ravi

If you're looking to generate reports or charts based on each Saga in Jira, I recommend trying SLA Time and Report, developed by my team.

If your Sagas are represented as Issue Types, Epics, or even a custom field (e.g. “Saga Name”), our app can help you:

✅ Filter SLA reports per each Saga (issue type)

✅ Visualize SLA Met vs Exceeded results by any criteria — including Saga name

✅ Track performance in real-time using the SLA Grid

✅ Export charts and reports or add gadgets to your Jira dashboard

This makes it easy to analyze which Sagas are performing well and which need attention in terms of SLA goals.

SLA Time and Report is fully compatible with Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and Jira Core Let me know if you'd like help getting started — happy to assist! 😊

Hi @Shruthy Ravi ,

Is this what you are looking for

?

Created with the app I developed - Multi-team Metrics & Retrospective. You can display any issue-types/work-items there using the custom metrics feature (via JQL).

Best regards,
Alexey

Hi @Shruthy Ravi ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community !
Same question as of Dmity - what 'Saga' is? Is that a issue type or connection or data name?

Charts via gadgets:

  • Created vs Resolved Chart

  • Pie Chart (e.g., by Assignee, Status, Priority)

  • Two-Dimensional Filter Statistics

  • Filter Results

  • Average Age Chart

  • Time to Resolution Gadget

  • Workload Pie Chart

Other charts as below (Report option)  - https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/features/reports

Report Name Chart Type Purpose
Burndown Chart Line chart Track work completed vs. time in a sprint.
Burnup Chart Line chart Track work completed vs. scope changes.
Velocity Chart Bar chart Shows average amount of work completed per sprint.
Cumulative Flow Diagram Area chart Visualize status changes over time to identify bottlenecks.
Control Chart Scatter plot Analyze cycle/lead time and issue flow efficiency.
Sprint Report Issue list + chart Track completed/incomplete issues per sprint.

Hi @Shruthy Ravi ,

Is Sage a work/issue type you use? And what kind of reporting are you looking for? Time tracking, progress, workload etc.

Saga I meant the issue type. I would like to know if I can export a report based on each Saga. If there are 3 sagas under a quest of my project, I would need to know if I can generate 3 reports (1 report for each Saga).

Report covering the progress and outcome.

@Shruthy Ravi , sorry, haven't noticed the notification on time.

As @Piyush Annadate _ACE Pune_ mentioned above, you can get multiple charts based on a search results. If you need a single issue to report on, it would be a JQL like:

key = MID-530

where "MID-530" is your Saga.

But if you need to report on Saga + related/child issues, you need to come up with a different search depending on how the issues are organized.

And finally, you can take a look on a 3rd party apps like @Alexey Pavlenko _App Developer_  suggested. E.g. we are developers of Pivot Report that has multiple reporting options. Here's a typical report:

You check it the demo on your own, or book a call to go over it (da@colined.com)
