Can we customize Story Points with any scripting for formula for one project and one issue type

Hi Team,

Can I customize the Story Point field for Project = XXX  for Issue Type = XXX?

Since it is a JIRA system field i am afraid to try scripts and formula's for the same?

Can you advise whether this can be done? If so please advise how this can be achievable without impacting the other projects?
