Hi
Currently we use Jira Datacenter version 7.6.11 in our production environment and we have 4 nodes which host Jira application and 2 nodes as DB Servers.
We are planning to upgrade to version 7.13 and would like to know whether we could follow below approach (i.e. Zero DownTime) for upgrading.
- Select a Jira app server and keep a that Server offline and Upgrade it while other servers are on line and make it online after the upgrade
- Then do the same for remaining servers.
We assume that no upgrade tasks will be applied for the DB Servers. But would like to know whether there are any DB related tasks for this upgrade.
The purpose of above approach is to avoid the downtime with our earlier approach of upgrading Jira where we apply the upgrade to all servers while they are offline and make all of them online after the upgrade. Above approach is possible as per https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/upgrading-jira-data-center-with-zero-downtime-938846953.html but I just want to confirm.
Appreciate your response on this,
Regards
Piyal
