Can we edit Default permission scheme for a specific project

Hello,

You should Copy the default permission scheme, associate the copied permission scheme with the project and edit the copied permission scheme. If you edit the default permission scheme, there is a a huge change, that the default permission scheme is associated with another project. That is why permissions will change not only for your specific project, but also for all associated with the default permission scheme projects.

That means I have to create a new permission scheme if I want to apply it for the specific project

If you do not copy it, the permissions will be changed for all projects, that uses the default permission scheme.

If that is what you want to do, you do not have to copy it, otherwise you will have to create a new scheme.
