Can we link Production Jira with QA and Dev Jiras?

Hi,

We are having 3 environments for our Jira. Production Jira, QA jira and Dev Jira.

Production Jira is using main license, whereas QA and Dev Jira's are using Developer license which are from Production main licence.

Now we are trying to link all the three Jira's using application links, but we are getting "This application has the same ID as myself. Can't create link to myself." error.

Our question is, Is this error is excepted since the license are same.

Can't we link Prod, QA and Dev instances?

Regards,

Satya

Partly.  You are breaking the law by using the licence for three systems.

If the QA and Dev instances are for developing and testing Jira code and configuration, then you should be using a developer licence for them, and you would not need or want application links between them and production.

If they are for issue tracking, you should be paying for and maintaining separate licences for them (unless you have an enterprise licence arrangement with Atlassian)

Thanks for the reply.

So we can't integrate the instances having same license. right?

Well, sort of, but you need to buy licences for the QA and Developer server before anyone is going to help you.
