Deleting issues destroys its integrity as a system of record of the work performed. Almost every week someone in the forum is asking if there is a way to restore a single issue, but there isn’t. Deleting issue will also lead to someone doing something based on the issue and then being confused when they can’t find it again. Deleting issues will also eventually lead to questions about why there is a gap in the issue numbers. JIRA will not go back and reuse the number from deleted issues. I suggest you close them with a reason of 'deleted'. That will also give you a metric of how many issues you're deleting.
