I would like to receive personal notification (whenever I'm watching the issue, I'm the reporter, I'm the assignee, or Someone mentions me) in my Slack Channel only for a Specified Board in Jira.
I know currently we can set 2 notifications either:
But for example I have a Board ABC in Jira. There are 4 people who are the key stakeholders of this Board.
We want to receive a Slack Notification only if either 4 of us is watching the issue, the reporter, the assignee, or mentioned. We don't want to receive notifications if any of the changes on
AFAIK you cannot create a slack channel for a board. One idea that coms to mind is to leverage Automation. The idea would be to trigger on the desired events where a notification is desired. Use JQL condition that mirrors your boards JQL filter description. The action would be to send slack notification.
note – I don't love this solution as I'm not a huge fan of using any kind of complex JQL in automation
@Jack Brickey Thank for your recommendation.
Yeah, using JQL would be more complex. But just curious, I've tried learning JQL, it can only filter issues. It might be able to filter issues that we're the assignee or reporter. But I don't see that it's going to work for notification: if I'm mentioned or if i'm watching an issue.
The JQL is for filtering issue. But not for notification of being mentioned or watching an issue.
So JQL couldn't really solve the case here, could it?
