Hello,
Our need is to provide Description Template functionality to Jira users. The requirement is to be able to set different Templates on one Jira Project per Issue Type.
For example: For Project = "ABCD", there will be separate Description Template for User story, Spike, Bug and Work Request.
Jira Data Center 8.16 provides ability to Jira Admins to set contexts on System Fields such as Description. However it allows only one context to be set per Project.
Is there a roadmap to add ability to Data Center to set multiple contexts for same project?
Or
Is there any other way anyone has achieved this?
Thank you in advance!
As it seems, there is no possibility to set 2 contexts per project. Best way would be to provide the feedback here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-72239
Hi Deepali,
There is no Roadmap for this. If this was something you needed you would need to create multiple projects and then you can tie them together using boards and JQL.
However, a Field Configuration Scheme can have multiple Field Configurations but they are separated by Issue Type. So if you do use different Issue Types you maybe able to accomplish what you are looking for.
Best,
Clark

Hi Clark,
I think the request from Deepali aims towards another direction.
As you can find here,
https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0820/managing-system-fields-1095777030.html
there is a possibility of creating contexts for system fields. However, those are limited to only 1 context per project. The goal is to create a standardised template for the field description for different issue types, like Bug, Activity, Epic or User Story within the same project. However, as it seems this is currently not possible in version 8.20 either.
Would be great to know if there is another workaround for this or specific settings that must be configured.
Regards,
Oliver
