Can we update jira addon on live system?

Hey,

I have a few add-ons to update. Unfortunately, they are necessary to execute main business processes. Will it affect or cause any problems for users if I will update it without stopping system?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

You should be able to update apps without stopping Jira, but I would be cautious. We used to do that in the past until we started to run into issues with apps not starting after the update or started to fail. Now we are only updating our apps during maintenance windows so users are aware that Jira may be restarted after an update.

We also have a simlair behaviour, if there are many concurrent users working. Our Jira freezes for 10 or 20 mins. That is why we update plugins only when the number of users is small.
