Can you assign a workflow to a ticket type instead of a project?

Melanie Frasier August 24, 2022

Can a TYPE of ticket be assigned a workflow? If that works then we can make the ticket types TASK (for dev) / support / enablement etc. attach to a separate workflow. We have different workflows for Support, Enablement, Projects and Demos but only ONE Project with multiple EPICS. Any assistance will be much appreciated.

You don't associate workflows with projects, they're done by issue type.

So the short answer is a simple "yes"

With a Server/DC or Company-Managed project, you create a "workflow scheme".  These list all the issue types in the system, and allow you to map a different workflow to each type.  You then apply the scheme to the project and your issue types will adopt the different workflows you have built.

In Team-managed projects, go into admin and then the list of issue types.  Near the top right, there is an "edit workflow" button, which will let you edit the workflow.  The trick here is that when you click "save" when you've finished editing the workflow, it will ask you what issue types in the project you want to copy your changes to.
