Can you import the "Team" field from the Plan View via csv?

We are migrating to a new instance of Jira, and we have a lot of Teams that we have set up in the Plan View. They are "shared". But when we go to import the data via csv into the new instance, we get

:… WARN – Cannot add value [ [The Exiled] ] to CustomField Team in issue with summary ‘CPT PI-18 Ad-hoc Op Feedback’. Probably value was in incorrect format.

Any ideas?

Hi @April_Delay ,

Shared Teams have a unique identifier. This can be retrieved one of two ways:

  • Create a new JQL search for issues matching your team value, when selected it will change the team name to its ID
  • Enable the Team field in the column view for issue searches and run an export of current fields. The issue will export with the Team Id and Team Name columns

To set the Team value on import, just use the ID value rather than the name.

Thank you!

So in order to make it work, we:

  1. Made the teams created a “Shared” team
  2. Retrieved the Team ID via the JQL search approach
  3. Added the Team ID to replace the Team Name in the CSV (replace “The Exiled” with 93)
  4. Reimported
