Can you move an issue between backlogs

Hi all

I am new to JIRA and was wondering if its possible to

1. Move issues from 1 backlog to another or from (1 project to another).

Intending to create a Main Backlog for capturing all issues and a Release Backlog where I can move issues to be worked on from the Main backlog

Hope this makes sense, I am on v6.2

Marshal, it's definitely possible to move an issue from one project to another, see https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA062/Moving+an+Issue. That being said, the backlogs are filtered using the board's filter, so as long as the filter from the other board picks up the change the issue will appear in the second board.

For example, you can have two boards for the same project and use them appart by issue type for example. :)
