Can you upgrade/downgrade your cloud subscription at any time?

Oliver Nickelson November 13, 2019

Hello,

I'm making a comparison of the standard and premium versions of your software, based on our business needs it is most likely we would go with the standard version, but if these needs where to change, could we upgrade our subscription or would we need to cancel one and start again?

Similarly, if we where on the premium and our needs reduced, could we then downgrade back to standard?

Thanks

Not quite "any time", more "review monthly", but you do not need to worry about the data, or going up or down.

With both Cloud and Server versions of Atlassian software, you get all the functions and the licences are simply a "cap".   You can jump from 10 licenses to 500 or drop from 500 to 10 without having to think about data loss or function changes.  The licencing is purely based on "number of active people".

TLDR: Yes, it's flexible and no, you do not need to cancel or restart.  You just need to look at the number of users you want and adjust the licence cap to match.

Thanks Nic,

In addition to number of licences, is the same true of going from standard to premium and vice versa?

I believe so, but I don't know for sure.  It's rare to see people change that - they usually know from the start which they want, and when in doubt, get standard and move to premium when they realise they want that, never going back.
