Cannot add user story to epic (via epic link)

Hi,

From some odd reason when I open user story and add epic jira id to epic link box it doesn't find epic at all ?

Epic really exist :) 

Epic is in new state (initial state, just created) and user story is in progress.

This can be a permission issue. Do you have access to see the Epic you are trying to link to?

I'm admin so no permission issue. I and actual originator can independently see tickets just fine.  Issue type schemes have both types etc  so not getting why this is...

Actually thinking that I have a bit incorrectly defined ticket. Problem is that when I'm in user story and I try to enter epic id then there is an indication that

Epic with key xxx-yyyy does not exist

Actual operation works as I have just tested. What could be reason why user story in same project doesn't find epic in same project ?
