Cannot assign Sub-task issue type

Karen Fong January 17, 2012

Hi, we're testing out Jira On Demand and the default Issue types available are:

- Technical task
- Bug
- Epic
- Improvement
- New Feature
- Story
- Task

We're trying to add "Defect" as a subtask to "Bug", but it seems that Jira On Demand does not give the option to add sub-tasks? Is there a workaround or something I'm missing? In Jira Studio, you are able to choose whether an issue was its own task or a subtask by selectin a radial button, while Jira On Demand doesn't give you that option.

Thanks!

Your admin first needs to enable sub-tasks and create the necessary Sub-tasks. Then when you view an issue, under More Actions, you will have the option of converting your ticket to sub-task type

Hello Sindhoor,

Sub-tasks is enabled but the option under More Actions is "Create Sub-Task" not convert to sub-task. How can I setup the option to "Convert Sub-Task"? Also, can I setup the option as "Convert to specific sub-task"?

Thanks,

Manju
