Hi all, I found that recently in excel when I tried to import data from jira cloud, all the selected fields are gone and when I click the edit button from "Import data from jira" it just kept rolling, anyone knows what happened, thanks?
Hi @mchao, @John Derkacz,
Jira's Excel integration is maintained by Atlassian, so you may want to reach out to Atlassian Support.
In general, the integration appears to be a bit brittle at times; if you search this community, you'll find posts about different kinds of (sometimes temporary, sometimes permanent) problems. This guide for resolving common problems might be useful.
Alternatively, if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, there's a number of apps available that provide advanced exporting capabilities and work around the limitations of Jira's native functionality.
Depending on your exact use case, you may even want to consider whether you need to sync back and forth between Jira and Excel at all, or whether you could do all your work in one place, just Jira. I'll add more information below.
Best,
Hannes
... and to expand on my previous point:
If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on: JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. JXL also comes with a long list of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
This is how it looks in action:
This all happens directly in Jira, using your Jira data - so whatever you chose to do in JXL, your view is always live and fully synchronised.
Any questions just let me know!

Hi @mchao ,
I just checked it, works fine for me. I would suggest closing all the active Excel sheets. Open a fresh workbook and log in again with the connector and start fresh. All the best!

I am experiencing this same issue, I use the plugin once a week, so this worked a week ago but not today. My spreadsheet shows 0 fields, if I try to "edit" the fields, it hangs forever.
I also already tried the suggestion, I closed all open excel tabs, now I only have excel, powerpoint, and Jira open. The issue persists.

@mchao @John Derkacz Please check with any of your teammates if they are experiencing the same with their access. If that is impacting all Please reach out to Atlassian, could be a site-related issue.
