Very frustrating and much time has been wasted.
I had about 100 user stories in my backlog but cannot find them there. Nor are all the epics associated to them.
What changed?
There were few epics I created a while back as a place holder. Today I went an updated them so I can add more user stories. After I updated the epics I went back to create sprints but found the page empty.
The stories are there since I set filters. So if I go to the filter page I am able to see them
I have a meeting early in the morning and I need this fixed. kindly help
Hi Poppy, welcome to the Community. I get the frustration for sure but I’m betting we can get back up and running here. A couple of thoughts on what may have happened but there is a bet of guessing on my part until I have more data.
You indicated that all your issues were in the Backlog until you updated the Epics. So how exactly did you update the Epic? One thought here is that maybe the stories fell out of the Epic. However, that should not equate to them disappearing from the backlog. It could be that the status that was mapped to the Backlog changed. Can you try to find one of the stories that ‘disappeared’ and check the status? You can use the Advanced search feature - click in the search bar and click Advanced search. Next check the status that is mapped to the Backlog if any - on the board click on the ellipses in the top right and select Board settings > columns. Are there statuses mapped to the backlog column (far left column). If not the. You should map the initial status in your workflow to that column, e.g To Do.
check that out and update here with your findings.
Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it. Few Remarks to your feedback
1. The stories have not fallen off the epics
2. The stories are all intact within respective filters.
3. The status has not changed. The ones closed show closed. Others show "to do"
Nothing changed as per as filters are concerned

Typically To Do is mapped to the Backlog column is that the case? Is anything showing in the Backlog? Closed issues don’t show in backlog but guessing you already know that. If the issues exist but are not showing in the backlog then either they are in a status that is not mapped to Backlog or the board filter is excluding the issue altogether. If the issues are in the Kanban board then they are in a status that is mapped to columns in that board.
