Cannot upload images to jira tickets

When I try to upload an image to jira, the upload takes a very long time. It responds after a minute or so that the image was successfully loaded but when I click to see the uploaded image it responds with "Ouch! We can't load the image."

Is anyone else experiencing this? What's the best way to fix this?
