When I edit a users roles in some projects.Projects are categorized. In the view mode I can see category names. When I edit the roles in projects the category name is missing.

A bug?

It's because the category and the role membership are not really related to each other.  In some places, there is a logical or business reason that they might be related, but for JIRA, it's not important.  Categories group projects together for all sorts of reasons.  For example, we use "active client project, client services, ended client, internal project" and so-on.  We allocate "developers" to the projects in those categories based on them needing developer access to the project.  The category has nothing to say about the role of developer.
