Chain automations in jira software

Antonio Domenech Picó November 28, 2022

I would like to know how I can chain two automations so that the second one starts when the first one finishes.

Thanks in advance

Hi @Antonio Domenech Picó

Welcome to the community

You can allow this by checking the box next to Allow rule trigger in Rule details.

Hi @Antonio Domenech Picó -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Adding to Hamza's answer...

Currently, one rule cannot call another rule.  But one rule can create the conditions which trigger another rule...when you enable the option that Hamza has noted.

Please note: if your first rule has branches on more than one issue, the second rule may trigger earlier than you expect (due to the parallel and asynchronous processing of rules).  If you have concerns about this please post images of both of your rules so the community can offer suggestions.

Kind regards,
Bill
