Change Admin On Jira

James Lewis April 5, 2018

Hi,

Im working on an existing Jira environment. Its a customised service desk. I note the email notifications and status's still reflect the former admin.

Can someone tell me where I look to change this, Ive recently changed the project lead to myself. Is there anywhere else I need to change this information?

Any help would be aprechiated

James

Hi James,

I'm not sure if the notifications you mentioned are Service Desk Notifications or System (Jira native) notifications. I guess it's Service Desk and you can find the associated documentation here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicedeskcloud/managing-service-desk-notifications-732528936.html (can switch to Server if you're not on Cloud, top-right button on he page).

This doc explains how notifications are used and how to customize them! That might be the right place to look for the admin name :)

Let us know if it helped!

Cheers

Yes I think your bang on! Thanks. I noticed in the automation it says run rule as project default - and has the other colleagues details. I cant seam to be able to select mine, is there another setting I need to change to be able to pick my name from the drop down box

It appears as you look at automation, the click the gear near the top right of the screen.

I see, those are automation rules!

It seems that you need to be Service Desk Team (or at least view issues) + be allowed to perform all actions from the rule to be able to be used in the "Rule as". Can you make sure you have those permissions?
