Change Due Date based on related issue Due Dates

I am looking for a way to update a date field on an issue to the latest date recorded in the corresponding field of issues related to it.

Example:
I have issue x with links to related issue y and issue z.
Assume that issue y has a date of 12/20/20 and issue z has a date of 12/21/20.

Expected Result:
I would want the date field on issue x to take the 12/21/20 date. If the dates on issue y or issue z were to change, I would want the date field on issue x to update to whichever date is latest.

I'm open to post-function solutions, even though this will only work when one of the related issues are transitioned, but I feel like a listener might be the better option.
