Change state when creating or editing issue (Edited)

Matias Stagnari June 6, 2018

Sorry, I confused with my question. It's ok now. What I want to ask is if I can change the first state when I'm creating an issue.

I was working with someone who managed all my jira, and he couldn't do that. But I read somewhere that you can make a rule for that, for ex put a field with a tick. Can it be done?

(Old wrong text) Hi, I want to know if it's posible to assign a user to a issue that is being creating. Or if it isn't, I propose to make it posible.

It's impractical to first create an issue and then have to change the user, in two steps.

Thanks!

Most of the default setups have the assignee as a field on the screen already, so you can set it.

If it's missing, just add it to the "create" screen, but bear in mind it will only appear for users who have "assign issue to other people" permissions in the project.

(I don't know if I can change the title to correct it.)

No, you can't, natively.

You will need one of the add-ons that can (conditionally) transition to a second status after the initial creation.

EDIT: my bad did not see the conditional  part, nothing to be added here :p

Micky, I was referring to the second point, thanks anyway!

Hi Matias,

It's actually possible, you'll have to add the "Assignee" field to the screen associated with your Issue Type creation. Once done, Assignee will be an editable field, when creating :)

Screens are associated to actions (Create, Edit, View) for each issue type through Screen Schemes and Issue Type Screen Schemes. You can change all those through the admin panel :)

Hope this helps!

Cheers
