Hi guys,

our Jira is currently set to german and I was wondering how/if you can change the JQL fieldnames from english to german.

For example the field "watcher" is "Beobachter" in german but in JQL I can only search the field "watcher"

It would make it easier to use the JQL because sometimes the names are a bit "irritating"

Hello Marvin,

Welcome to Atlassian Community.

The JQL language is just like any other language used to search application database (SQL for example).

It uses pre-defined parameters mapped to fields in JIRA which are specified in English since it is a global language, however, configure more than a single parameter to return the same result would cause some confusion in the system, which does not identify/differentiate languages for the parameters used in the query just like any other database language.

That been said, it is not possible to translate JQL fields or related values (Except for Custom fields). We have a few threads opened related to this matter:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-39009

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-34878

Let me know if you still have any questions.

Hi,

how do I then find out the name of the non-custom respective english name if it is displayed in my native language?

Thanks!
