Change workflow Scheme

Hi all,

I have a workflow (A), its been shared with three projects lets say 1, 2 and 3. Now i need to change the workflow for Project 3 alone, but it should not affect the other two projects(1 and 2).

btw i have a made a copy of the Workflow (A) , can i upload this to Project 2 and 3, will this separate Project 1 from 2 and 3?

or the change which i am going to make is Project 2 and 3 , will affect the project 1 as well.

Note: Workflow (A), its a default workflow from JIRA.

it would be great if someone can update me on this,

Workflows are not "shared with projects" directly and you can't "upload a workflow to a project", they are associated through the "workflow scheme".

You create a global set of workflows (this is often automated by the project creation process), and then a set of workflow schemes that tell Jira "for this project, use this set of workflows for these issue types"

So, to deal with your setup - copy workflow A to workflow B, and amend B to have the changes you need.

Next create a new "workflow scheme" that says "use workflow B for all issues".  From the settings section in project 3, change the workflow scheme, selecting the new one.
