I have started my first job as a developer recently and I got a ticket assigned. While I was looking at some other tickets I changed someone's ticket status from "ready for release" to "released to production". I have never used jira before, should I inform someone or should I just change status back to "ready for release".

Hi @Parth Patel and welcome to the Community!

We all make mistakes, don't we 😉? In any work management system - like Jira is one - having an accurate view of the status of work is where the value of the system lies. So, if your ticket is not released in production yet, I guess you should change the status back to its real and actual status (if Jira allows you to do so).

It may be a good idea to tell your team lead you accidentally made this mistake. You never know if there's any automated processes behind the scenes that might have kicked in and need to be looked into as well.

But apart from that, just correct things and see it as a learning experience!

Hope this helps!
