Changes in Permission Schemes have no effect

Dominic Dittrich June 26, 2018

We´ve tried to give our users, permission to edit and delete their own posts.

Using different roles and groups have no effect, it seems to be impossible to grant our user to edit their comments. Any idea of what went wrong?

Well,
I think the problem is the mask.

This is the screen no changes effect anything.
But it´s where we need the changes an the possibility to edit and delete comments.

Trying to apply the sttings, Jira threw an error-message and told me to change sth.
Now the settings are this. (Jira accepted it)

Hi @Dominic Dittrich,

After trying to assign all the permissions(Edit all Comments.etc) to the system administrator, can the administrator modify the comments?

Dominic Dittrich June 27, 2018

Only in the admin-mask.
Not at the "usual" user mask.

Hi @Dominic Dittrich

Welcome to the community!

No, It is possible to give/grant the permission user/role/group to edit/delete their own comments.

For this, you need to add the user/role/group to Edit and Delete Own Comments permission scheme and associate the permission to the project that you want to apply.

Well, that´s what I´ve done!

Can you please confirm if this permission scheme has been associated with the correct project that you are trying to edit/delete the comments of the issue.

You can check this using permission helper.

1. Open the issue, in issue view screen click on Admin and select the permission helper and provide the user and permission details and see.

2. Go to Admin--> System --> Permission Helper

Provide the username and the Edit own comment permission and see what it will say.

I did this, too.
In its opinion, it´s all right.

Hi @Dominic Dittrich,

Could you upload the screenshot of your permission scheme?
