Changing board settings

I'd like to change some board settings (sort by date) on a project, but I don't see any way to make the changes. I found other threads that mention 3 dots in the corner of the board for more settings but I don't have those dots on my screen (Jira Core cloud). I'm one of the system admins so I have permissions to everything.

Cloud Core/Business boards, and Next-gen boards do not have settings, so I suspect you're using one of those types.

Yes, we are. Oh well. Being able to change some of those settings would be a nice feature.
