Changing date format for Jira Software et Jira Service Management

Gabriel Viger April 12, 2022

Hello everyone,

I was asked to change the date/time format for Jira Software et Jira Service Management (DC) to this format: 2022-04-12 13:50.

Current format is 04/apr/22.

Here is the configuration I would like to apply but I am missing some pieces:

Advanced settings:

  • jira.date.picker.java.format
    • yyyy-MM-dd
  • jira.date.picker.javascript.format
    • %Y-%m-%d (is this the right format?)
  • jira.date.time.picker.java.format
    • yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm
  • jira.date.time.picker.javascript.format
    • %Y-%m-%d %H:%M

Look and feel:

  • Time Format
    • HH:mm
  • Day Format
    • I don't know what to put here.
  • Complete Date/Time Format
    • yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm
  • Day/Month/Year Format
    • yyyy-MM-dd (is this the right format?)
  • Use ISO8601 standard in Date Picker
    • This is currently not enabled. Should I activate it?

Also, any advice or tips about the impact of making this change is welcomed.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Gabriel

ISO8601 Can be important if you are using the number of Week.

In North America (for example), the first week of the year begin the first day of the year.

Example: w01.2022 starts on Saturday01/01 and ends on Sunday (so Monday 3rd is the first day of W02.2022)

With ISO8601, the first week of the year starts on the first Monday of the year.

Example: w01.2022 starts on monday 3rd

Hi there,

Do you still need help on this topic? (I am feeling like an archeologist right now😂)
