Hello everyone.
I have integrated Jira Cloud with Slack and been using this integration for a long time.
There is this one Next-gen project my team newly created, and it was connected to Slack channel, let's say 'A'.
Back then, the notification style was to show the entire text of Jira issues, but my team decided to change the style into 'Truncated'. Then after a while, we decided to change the connected channel to 'B', and delete the connection between this Next-gen project and Slack channel 'A'.
Now my team wants to change the style again back to 'Show entire text', but it's not working. I deleted the connection and reconnected, change this connection to other channel and back to 'B' while keep changing the style from 'Truncated' to 'Show entire text', but still what I can see in Slack channel 'B' is truncated version of issues.
Does anybody know why this is happening? Is this some kind of issue? My company's other project, which is not Next-gen FYI, is showing the entire text well to its connected channels.
Any help or ideas on this will be very much appreciated.
Thanks
I also have not been able to get the show entire text option to work; I only get the truncated version. And my project is Classic, not Next-Gen, for what it's worth. Have you had any luck?
Hi Sarah,
We can troubleshoot this a bit more. Have you completely removed the subscription for the project by using the Delete option and then recreated it?
Thanks,
Daniel

Yep, didn't work. Deleted, readded, changed a few things, deleted, added again, retried, etc... eventually gave up.

I have the same issue but I would like to fix it.

Hi Sam,
I like to start with /jira manage in the Slack channel I want to adjust notifications in - that's probably the fastest way to see which Jira projects are linked with the channel. From there, you can see what the current notification settings in Jira. Can you have a check to make sure the right projects you expect are connected to "channel 'b'" still and that the message style is set to "Show entire text for summary, description, comment, and worklog"?
You mentioned that you'd deleted / re-added the connection. A common thing we see is that people might uninstall the app, but this doesn't change the existing channel subscriptions. The subscription may need to be removed in Jira to be recreated, and you can do that by using the Delete button at the top of the subscription page:
Cheers,
Daniel
