Hi ,
Why is the Validator , check for content change in custom filed not working even though content is changed during the transition . Anyone else facing the same issue .
It will be helpful if anyone can walk me through on how to use this validator.
Thanks
Hello Haran,
I hope you are having a nice day. :)
In my personal JIRA Cloud instance, the Field has been modified validator is properly working, so we would like to kindly ask you to provide us with the steps you took to reproduce the problem.
Just to confirm that you are having the correct expectations and we are on the same page regarding this feature, the Field has been modified Validator will block the transition to be performed until the field value is changed to a different one.
These are the questions that came up to my mind:
- Are you referring to the Field has been modified Validator or it is a different one provided by a plugin? I just would like to confirm that we are talking about the same validator since you mentioned: "Check for content change Validator".
- When you said it is not working, are you meaning that the validator keeps blocking you from transition the issue even after you changed the value of the field, is that correct?
- Can you let us know what fields you have configured to be the validate?
- Have you properly published your workflow after configuring the validator?
For more information regarding JIRA Validator and how it should work, you can check the Validator section in the documentation below:
- Advanced Workflow Configuration
Let us know if this information helps.
Hi @Petter Gonçalves ,
Yes, I am referring to Field has been modified Validator. And you got me right , the validator keeps blocking me from transition the issue even after you changed the value of the field. Its is a descriptive field . During a previous transition , it will be set to "enter ticket id" and once it is changed it has to jump to next status (as per Field has been modified Validator). But its not happening. I have properly published my workflow.
