Hello,
I have a need to have a checklist (the same one). added automatically on each version/release created.
From the release functionality it looks like I can't do pretty much anything related to this and none of the checklist add-ons I went through can be added to a release.
I was thinking that maybe I can use automation and add a story to each version on creation and on the story have attached the checklist. This is the only workaround I could think about but I am having trouble defining the automation rule for it.
Could you please provide some guidance or if you have any solutions that are more elegant?
Thank you,
Hi @Ana MINCA
You can use the following Jira Automation trigger in your rule:
Next, you can create an issue with the desired content.
If the content you need is a checklist, then you can take a look into the guide for Issue Checklist plugin on how to integrate it with Jira automation: https://herocoders.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IC/pages/1071743015/Schedule+creating+issues+with+checklist
Cheers,
Jack
you don't have the ability to add something to a Version, other than the Name and Description of course. As you said you could create a unique issuetype (or just use Task) and create one per version and use a checklist addon.
you might check the Marketplace. I'm not aware of any addons but they may exist.

This is a work-around, but not a solution. Jira should implement more capabilities to Releases / Versions. Having the ability to add a checklist, etc.

Hi @Chuck Schauber , indeed a workaround as I think my answer conveys. You may wish to provide feedback to Atlassian via the in-app feedback link under the "?" Icon in the upper right.
