Classroom licensing for every student in a school?

Hi all,

If an institute ever ask each of its students to subscribe to a classroom license (https://www.atlassian.com/survey/classroom-license-request), that fact will lead to multiple license request with the same answer for: "organisation detail", "organisation URL", "Academic organisation description", "How will our software be used in the classroom or project?"

Will this be a problem for Atlassian and might that lead to a ban once a number of request is passed?

The goal for the institute is to make each student to have his/her "classroom license" and use JIRA as the tool to manage projects during his studies in the school.

Yes,

I talk about self-hosted type, AKA "server".

It is a matter of cost: It's for an institute in Madagascar (https://goo.gl/TXm1wF) and when it comes to budget, every single cent that can be legally or legitimately saved is good.

Prevision are 50-75 students the first year.

That's going to be $10 per installation, assuming each student has their own separate installation. Frankly, that doesn't make sense though - 50-75 installations that don't share isn't really a "collaboration tool", it would make FAR more sense to have a single shared service. Best bet is still to follow up what Daniel said and talk to a sales person.

Are the students going to host JIRA themselves? Why not have a single JIRA instance and have the students use that?

You're better off probably asking the sales advocate at sales@atlassian.com .
